Campaign underway to support family of deceased Azerbaijani-American
Araz News: A fundraising campaign is underway to support the family of Azerbaijani-American Mirza Muzaffarov, who died after his canoe capsized in Wooster Lake, near Chicago, Illinois. A samaritan was able to save another man and Muzaffarov’s two sons from drowning. According to the Chicago Tribune, Muzaffarov’s body was recovered 3 hours later using advanced sonar equipment.
Muzaffarov was fishing with a friend and his two young sons when the incident occurred. He has been described as a humble man and loving father and husband. The fundraising campaign for his family has already reached two-thirds of the intended goal of $100,000 with nearly 60 days left. Muzaffarov is remembered by his wife and three children:
Mirza was a very humble down to earth person who always rushed to help his friends. Now it’s up to us look after the kids and family he left behind. This fundraiser is to ensure that Mirza’s family can continue to have a bit of normalcy in a life that suddenly turned upside down. Our goal is to raise enough money for funeral, memorial, housing and his kids’ education expenses.
